Energy Intellect has released VM Xtender and VM Gateway products which further enhance the highly successful VM Advanced Meter product range and feature versatile communications interfaces such as MODBUS™, TCP and RS485
VM Xtender Features:
- > Retrofits conveniently under the VM meter terminal cover
- > Enables the VM meter to connect with secondary devices such as gas and water meters, and condition monitoring systems
- > Provides a versatile communications interface supporting common industry standards including MODBUS, TCP, RS485
- > Supports multiple communications paths (wired and wireless) to ensure reliability and support advanced applications
- > Provides flexible and programmable pulse inputs and outputs to legacy energy or building management systems
- > Easy to programme "over the air" via an GSM / GPRS modem or the VM Xtender equipped with the optional onboard GSM / GPRS module

The VM Gateway is an intelligent IP enabled device that enables the integration of a network of VM meters and VMX interfaces into third party systems in real time. The unique power of the gateway is its ability to simplify the interfacing complexity when integrating VM smart grid technology with disparate systems and platforms. This includes integration with SCADA / DCS / BMS and bespoke third party platforms through widely accepted MODBUS™ protocol or alternatively a simple XML based API.
