Dean Gowans - General Manager, Business Development and Strategy

Mr. Gowans is an entrepreneur innovator, who spent the first 15 years of his career working across most aspects of the electricity supply industry, where both an engineering and commercial focus was required. Combined with a commercial emphasis, Mr. Gowans has a specialised knowledge of electronics and control as applied to utility, energy management, measurement and telemetry systems.

Mr. Gowans heads Energy Intellect's business development activities, which involves setting and navigating Energy Intellect's strategic course in-line with the company's commercial goals, to explore new market opportunities and transform concepts into commercial reality, ensuring always that Energy Intellect's products and solutions hit existing and future market sweet spots.

Mr. Gowans completed an electrical engineering apprenticeship with the Wellington MED, and later studied control system design, electronics, microprocessor applications, along with management and sales. Mr. Gowans also holds various electrical trade and engineering certificate qualifications in these disciplines and completed his technical studies at Wellington Polytechnic where he received the Sir Charles Norwood Award for being the top technical graduate at the institute in 1981.

Kiran Naran - General Manager, Sales

Mr. Naran joined Energy Intellect in 1999 and spearheaded the development of Energy Intellect’s services businesses; today known as Stream Information Ltd and Elect Data Service (Australia) Pty Ltd. Prior to his most recent appointment in 2009 as General Manager Sales, Mr. Naran was responsible for the development and commercialisation of Energy Intellect’s meter data management systems and Clariti.

A key driver for Mr. Naran is a commitment to embedding a high performing team of sales professionals and channel partners that drive value within Energy Intellect's client's businesses.

Mr. Naran has over 25 years experience in the electricity industry. Prior to joining Energy Intellect, Mr. Naran held key management positions in sales and account management of major commercial and industrial customers.

Brett Reid - General Manager, Development and IT

Mr. Reid joined Energy Intellect in 2008 he has more than 18 years of experience as a technology systems development and delivery professional.

Mr. Reid has played a significant role in energy sector product design over the past 10 years, specifically in the areas of demand side management, control systems engineering and process optimisation.

Mr. Reid is continuing with this work at Energy Intellect directing the development effort with an emphasis on the changing needs of the energy sector. Mr. Reid is also responsible for Energy Intellect's IT infrastructure and systems.
