Bill Falconer - Chairman
Mr. Falconer is an experienced public company director. He is a director of Oyster Bay Marlborough Vineyards Limited, Waterfront Partnership, Fast Forward Ltd and is Chairman of the Meat Industry Association. He is also a Director of Westfield Trust (NZ) Limited the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Tower Corporation Limited.
From 1980-85 he was Deputy Secretary of Energy, and from 1985 to 1989 he was Chief Executive of Petroleum Corporation of New Zealand (Petrocorp), acquired by Fletcher Challenge Limited with whom he served until 1995. During this time he was chairman of Natural Gas Corporation Limited (1992-95), Southern Petroleum NL (1992-95), Maui Development Limited (1990-95) and New Zealand Synthetic Fuels Corporation (1992-94), and was a director of New Zealand Refining Company Limited (1989-95).
Brian Leighs - Director
Mr. Leighs is an independent business consultant and director of a number of companies. He is a Chartered Accountant and has held senior management roles in the telecommunications, energy and information technology sectors.
From 1995 to 1998 he was a key member of the Victorian Government energy reform team, project managing the privatisation of electricity generation and distribution businesses and acting as Establishment CEO of state owned gas distribution and retail businesses during their transition to a competitive market and ultimate privatisation.
In 1999 he was responsible for the establishment of Genesis Power and the preparation of viability and environmental reports to government that preceded the formal split up of ECNZ.
Neil MacCulloch - Director
Mr. MacCulloch commenced as Group Manager Operations of Hellaby Holdings Limited in June 2008.
Mr. MacCulloch is a former Chief Financial Officer of Metlifecare and Sandford, and has also held senior financial and commercial roles at Fletcher Building, Fletcher Energy and Fletcher Challenge.
Russell Longuet - Director
Mr. Longuet, BE (Elec), is Managing Director of Exergi Consulting Limited, an independent energy consultancy based in Wellington. His particular focus is on Energy Sector risk management, Government liaison, industrial co-generation, energy efficiency, procurement, project finance and mediation.
Prior to that, he was Energy Manager for Carter Holt Harvey for 8 years in Auckland, with responsibility for securing energy supplies and optimising energy costs across the Group’s operations in Australasia.
Mr. Longuet is a long standing member of the MEUG (Major Electricity Users Group) executive and presents at many Energy Industry conferences on market structure and operation and related energy issues as seen from an end user perspective.
Mr. Longuet's background spans Engineering, Merchant Banking and Energy Consulting in Scandinavia, Britain, Australia and New Zealand. Russell holds a BE(Elec) from Canterbury.
Mr. Longuet is a Board member of Electra Limited and is a fomer Board Member of EECA (the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority), a member of the Institute of Directors and on a number of advisory Groups to Government in the Electricity and Gas markets.
David Thomas - Director
Group General Manager Gas Trading and Metering - Vector
Mr Thomas leads Vector’s gas wholesale business, LPG, and metering. He has extensive experience in the energy trading environment and operational expertise in the energy sector.
Previously he was general manager operations at Contact Energy, where he was responsible for Contact’s power stations and generation development, and he has also held roles at BP and Fletcher Challenge in New Zealand and overseas. David has been with Vector since September 2008.
