Bill
Falconer
CHAIRMAN
Bill Falconer is a director of a number
of public companies and a commercial
barrister. He is currently Chairman
of Hellaby Holdings and Oyster Bay Marlborough
Vineyards, and a Director of Tower Limited
and Westfield Management Limited. He
has held a number of Government appointments,
and is a former Chairman of the Environmental
Risk Management Authority and the ACC.
He has considerable experience of the
energy industry.
From 1980-85 he was Deputy Secretary
of Energy, and from 1985 to 1989 he
was Chief Executive of Petroleum Corporation
of New Zealand (Petrocorp), acquired
by Fletcher Challenge Limited with whom
he served until 1995. During this time
he was chairman of Natural Gas Corporation
Limited (1992-95), Southern Petroleum
NL (1992-95), Maui Development Limited
(1990-95) and New Zealand Synthetic
Fuels Corporation (1992-94), and was
a director of New Zealand Refining Company
Limited (1989-95). David
Houldsworth
DIRECTOR
David Houldsworth was Managing Director
and Chief Executive Officer of Hellaby
Holdings Ltd from 1998 to 2007. In July
2007 he resigned as Chief Executive
Officer of Hellaby but remains on the
Hellaby Board as a Director.
Mr. Houldsworth previously held a number
of senior positions at Westpac Banking
Corporation (1989-98) encompassing a
wide range of corporate and investment
banking responsibilities, culminating
in the position of Head of Corporate
Banking at Westpac New Zealand.
Earlier appointments included general
manager and executive director of Landmark
Corporation Limited (1986-89), and senior
corporate and investment banking roles
with Citibank and Chase Manhattan Bank's
New Zealand operations. He is currently
a director of New Zealand Wool Services
International Limited and New Zealand
Metrological Service. Brian
Leighs
DIRECTOR
Mr. Leighs is an independent business
consultant and director of a number
of companies. He is a Chartered Accountant
and has held senior management roles
in the telecommunications, energy and
information technology sectors.
From 1995 to 1998 he was a key member
of the Victorian Government energy reform
team, project managing the privatisation
of electricity generation and distribution
businesses and acting as Establishment
CEO of state owned gas distribution
and retail businesses during their transition
to a competitive market and ultimate
privatisation.
In 1999 he was responsible for the establishment
of Genesis Power and the preparation
of viability and environmental reports
to government that preceded the formal
split up of ECNZ.
More recently he has been responsible
for the venture capital raising for
a small Wellington based hi tech company
and serves on the board of Hautaki Ltd,
the owner of 3G spectrum owned by Maori.
Russell
Longuet
DIRECTOR
Mr. Longuet is Managing Director of
Exergi Consulting Limited, an independent
energy consultancy based in Wellington.
His particular focus is on Energy Sector
risk management, Government liaison,
industrial co-generation, energy efficiency,
procurement, project finance and mediation.
Prior to that, he was Manager Energy
for Carter Holt Harvey for 8 years in
Auckland, with responsibility for securing
energy supplies and optimising energy
costs across the Group’s operations
in Australasia. Previously he was General
Manager for NZ of an Australasian Energy
Efficiency consulting company targeting
industrial processors.
He is a long standing member of the
MEUG (Major Electricity Users Group)
executive and presents at many Energy
Industry conferences on market structure
and operation and related energy issues
as seen from an end user perspective.
Mr. Longuet's background spans Engineering,
Merchant Banking and Energy Consulting
in Scandinavia, Britain, Australia and
New Zealand. Russell holds a BE(Elec)
from Canterbury.
Mr. Longuet is a Board Member of EECA
(the Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Authority), a member of the Institute
of Directors and on a number of advisory
Groups to Government in the Electricity
and Gas markets. Simon
Mackenzie
DIRECTOR
Mr. Mackenzie is CEO of Vector Ltd.
He has extensive experience in the energy
sector, including strategy, regulation,
network management, information technology,
and the energy market, as well as telecommunications.
He also has experience in construction
and consultancy environments both in
New Zealand and offshore. He has completed
the Advanced Management Programme at
the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Simon was previously Divisional CEO
Technology with Vector.
Michael
Stiassny
DIRECTOR
Michael Stiassny, BCom, LLB, CA, is
a chartered accountant and senior partner
of Ferrier Hodgson and Co in Auckland.
He has significant experience in investigating
accountant work, company restructuring,
due diligence and insolvency. He is
a director of a number of public and
private companies, including Vector
Limited, The Horticulture and Food Research
Institute of New Zealand Limited and
New Zealand Racing Board. Mr. Stiassny
is an Auckland Branch Committee Member
for the Institute of Directors and a
Fellow of the Institute of Directors. |
